About the Specialty Contractors Committee (SCC)
Íæż½ã½ã of America is composed of nearly 27,000 member firms; including nearly 9,000 specialty contractor firms. All Íæż½ã½ã specialty contractor members are members of the Specialty Contractors Committee. The Committee provides Íæż½ã½ã specialty contractor members a voice in the Association.
The Committee was created in 1997 to better serve the needs of the Association's growing ranks of specialty contractor members. The SCC chair serves on the Íæż½ã½ã Board of Directors and the Íæż½ã½ã Board of Governors - all strengthening the impact that specialty contractors have in Íæż½ã½ã.
The SCC seeks to promote best practices and fairness throughout the construction industry through collaboration within Íæż½ã½ã, enhanced communication, and industry influence

Preventing and Managing the Risk of a Subcontractor Default
The following best practices are designed to inform your risk management strategy. They are not a substitute for a tailored strategy reviewed by your risk management, pre-construction, and operations leaders, along with business partners (brokers, attorneys, consultants, etc.). While these practices have proven helpful, not all will apply to every situation. Each contractor must independently determine what is relevant and appropriate for their specific circumstances.
