Íæż½ã½ã MEMBERS HONORED FOR BUILDING NATION'S PREMIER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

LAS VEGAS – Íæż½ã½ã of America (Íæż½ã½ã) today announced the 2008 Aon Build America Awards, the highest and most sought–after awards in the construction industry. Seventeen projects were selected as winners and seven were selected for merit awards at Íæż½ã½ã's 89th Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"The Aon Build America Awards recognize the nation's premier projects, large and small, from across the country," said Íæż½ã½ã CEO Stephen E. Sandherr. "The Build America Award winners embody the industry at its best and truly illustrate how Íæż½ã½ã contractors are building America's quality of life."

The Build America Awards contribute directly to the Íæż½ã½ã Education and Research Foundation. Since 1993, The Build America Scholarship Program has awarded $279,250 in scholarships to 87 construction management and civil engineering students.

"For the second year in a row we recognized one special winner with the Aon Build America Grand Award," added Sandherr. "This year, C. C. Myers demonstrated exceptional excellence overcoming difficult challenges and exceeding time constraints to complete I–580/880 Emergency Repair Project."

Entries are submitted from every area of general contracting including: federal & heavy, municipal & utilities, highway, design–build, environmental, international and construction management projects in the categories of new and renovation. Winners are chosen by a contractor's toughest critics—a group of peer—and judged on: meeting the challenge of a difficult job; excellence in project management; contractor's innovation in construction techniques; contractor's state–of–the–art–advancement; contractor's sensitivity to the environment and surroundings; excellence in client service; and the contractor's contribution to the community.
